BRANDON MILAM - Head Coach
Coach Brandon Milam graduated in 1992 from Carthage High School in Carthage, Texas. In 1990, Carthage won a State Championship in baseball where he was the starting Catcher. He then continued his education at Panola Jr. College while playing baseball. After receiving his Associates degree in Science, he attended The University of Houston while finishing his collegiate baseball career. Brandon was picked up by the Northern League in 1996. He played one year with the Madison Blackwolf organization from Madison, Wisconsin. He returned to Houston to receive his Mathematics Degree and to Coach for the Cougars as an Undergraduate Assistant. Coach Milam completed his Master’s in Education in the Spring of 2011. He married Lesley in 1997 and they have a son Reese who will be 8 in April. Coach Milam and Lesley were blessed with triplet girls, Ashtyn, LeeAnna, and Camryn who will be 5 in April. Brandon began working for MISD in 2000, and he found a home at McKinney Boyd High School in 2006 teaching in the math department and coaching baseball. Brandon has an older brother, Brad and a younger sister Becky. Brad is an Athletic Director Head Football Coach in Splendora. Becky is an X-ray Tech in Frisco. Brandon’s parents, Danny and Jeanine Milam are the Bronco’s biggest fans!
COACH SPARKS - Varsity Assistant
This is Coach Sparks' 12th year in education and his 4th year at Boyd. His stops include McKinney, Prosper, and Little Elm. He coaches freshman football where he handles the quarterbacks and coordinates the offense. and varsity baseball. Coach Sparks played collegiately at Collin College and is a graduate of Texas Tech University, where he met his beautiful wife, Amy. They have 3 daughters: Britton (9), Berkley (5), and Boston (2).
COACH PORTER - Varsity Assistant
Coach Porter is entering his 4th year at Boyd High School. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. He arrived in Fort Worth from Missouri City where he attended Elkins High School, playing on a 5A state champion and nationally recognized team. He comes to Boyd after spending 4 years coaching baseball at Arlington Heights in Fort Worth. At Boyd, he coaches freshman football in addition to varsity baseball. He is married to his wife, Jodi, and they are expecting a daughter, Easton, in the spring.
COACH BLAZEK - Head JV
Coach Blazek is entering his 5th year at McKinney Boyd High School and his 7th year in education. He graduated from Ennis High School in 2000 where he was a two year starter and all district outfielder. After high school, he continued his education at the University of North Texas earning a Business degree in 2005. This past fall, Coach Blazek earned his masters degree in Educational Administration. Coach Blazek is married to Jennifer who is a 2nd grade teacher at Bennett Elementary. They have a son, Jaxton, who will turn 1 in April.
COACH DAY - Head Freshman
Coach Travis Day is entering his 6th year of coaching and his 4th at Boyd. He graduated from Euless Trinity in 2000 where he was a two year starter and the Tarrant County Defensive Player of the Year. Also Travis was a two year starter in baseball and named to the all area team. He went on to play football at Tarleton State University and graduated in 2006 with a degree in Kinesiology. He is engaged to Cecilia and they have a beautiful little boy named Ty.
