2010 Coaches and Staff
HEAD COACH BRANDON MILAM
Coach Brandon Milam graduated in 1992 from Carthage High School in Carthage, Texas. In 1990, Carthage won a State Championship in baseball where he was the starting Catcher. He then continued his education at Panola Jr. College while playing baseball. After receiving his Associates degree in Science, he attended The University of Houston while finishing his collegiate baseball career. Brandon was picked up by the Northern League in 1996. He played one year with the Madison Blackwolf organization from Madison, Wisconsin. He returned to Houston to receive his Mathematics Degree and to Coach for the Cougars as an Undergraduate Assistant. He married Lesley in 1997 and they have a son Reese who will be 6 in April. Coach Milam and Lesley were blessed with triplet girls, Ashtyn, LeeAnna, and Camryn who will be 3 in April. The Milams currently live in Melissa and are members of First Baptist Church of McKinney. Brandon began working for MISD in 2000, and he found a home at McKinney Boyd High School in 2006 teaching in the math department and coaching baseball. Brandon has an older brother, Brad and a younger sister Becky. Brad is a Defensive Coordinator at San Antonio East Central High School. Becky is an X-ray Tech in Frisco. Brandon’s parents, Danny and Jeanine Milam are the Bronco’s biggest fans! |

COACH BLAZEK
Coach Blazek graduated from the University of North Texas with a Business degree in 2005. This is his third year at McKinney Boyd. He was at Kerens High School for two years before coming to McKinney Boyd. Coach Blazek is married to Jennifer who is a kindergarten teacher at Bennett Elementary.

COACH PORTER
Coach Porter earned a Bachelor of Business Degree from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. He arrived in Fort Worth from Missouri City where he attended Elkins High School. He comes to Boyd after spending 4 years at Arlington Heights in Fort Worth where he coached both football and baseball. At Boyd he will be coaching freshman football as well as varsity baseball.

COACH DAY
Coach Travis Day is entering his fourth year of coaching and his second at Boyd. From 2006-2008, Travis coached at Little Cypress Mauriceville High School where he was the varsity secondary coach and the offensive coordinator. He also coached the freshman baseball team. He graduated from Euless Trinity in 2000 where he was a two year starter and the Tarrant County Defensive Player of the Year. Also Travis was a two year starter in baseball and named to the all area team. He went on to play football at Tarleton State University and graduated in 2006 with a degree in Kinesiology.

COACH SPARKS
Coach Sparks has been teaching and coaching for 10 years, with stops in McKinney, Prosper, and Little Elm. He coaches Freshmen football where he handles the QB's and coordinates the offense, and Varsity Baseball. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University, where he met his beautiful wife Amy. They have 3 daughters, Britton (7), Berkley (3), and Boston (2 months).

COACH BURRIS
Coach Alex Burris was born and raised in McKinney, TX. He played for Coach Milam in 2002, 2003, and 2004 at McKinney North High School. His High School achievements include: 2 time all-district outfielder, 2004 undefeated district champions, and 2004 McKinney North Inaugural Graduating Class. In 2005 and 2006, he played at Panola Jr. College and graduated from Baylor University. Coach Burris is a member of First Baptist of McKinney and living out his dream to be an assistant for Coach Milam.
